One of the commonly used tests to gauge someone's English language competency is the International English Language Testing System. It assesses the language ability of those planning to pursue higher education or who are eager to immigrate to English-speaking nations. Furthermore, it was founded in 1989 and is jointly run by Cambridge Assessment English, IDP Australia, and the British Council. IDP Australia administers the IELTS test in India.
